Winter Cardinals

This decorative embroidery design shows a pair of Cardinals, perched atop a pine tree, waiting for the sun to rise and warm the winter day. Or maybe with different color thread, they are watching the sunset. Sized for the 5x7 Hoop (130mmx180mm), this design will fit nicely in a 5x7 mat or frame to hang on the wall.  I tested the design on the 6 main colors of the color wheel with the same color thread in every stitch out to see how the background fabric impacts ones perception of the colors and then assembled to designs into a color wheel wall hanging. The center design of the wall hanging is from the Tis the Season set, duplicated and rotated. And though I did not specifically plan this design for stitching with mylar film for embroidery, I did test it once with good results. This single design has 28,000 Stitches and 17 Colors, color chart included. Cardinals and Tree graphics based on artwork from from MyGrafico/Cocoa Studios.
